decided to order this item after realising our water heater was close to 10 years old. Figured it would be easier and cheaper to install this thing than ro replace the basement carpet if the heater failed. Fitted this in under an hour, some plumbing skills required.
works on demand (you can open/close the valve from the controller) and the sensor works with a single drop of water - though be careful where you put it, step on it and you'll break it.
